How Acupuncture Works

If you suffer from any type of pain, you need to try acupuncture first. Chinese medicine includes acupuncture, but it also includes Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, tui na, and topical pain relievers.

In Chinese medicine theory, pain is caused by a blockage of circulation. It is called Qi and Blood Stagnation. The blood flow is blocked.

When the blood circulation is blocked, your body cannot heal the area, because it is blocked there. You do not get enough oxygen in the area, and your body cannot heal itself fully. Because without blood circulation, there is no way for your body to supply nutrients, immune system complexes, prostaglandins, and everything your body uses to function properly.

Acupuncture Restores Healthy Circulation to Relieve Pain

It restores circulation by using the meridian system. When you have pain somewhere, an acupuncturist will look at which meridian is affected. That meridian can be treated, as well as other meridians that balance that meridian. That restores healthy circulation.

In addition to using the meridian system. There are empirical points that are used to treat things.

There are over 200 points on the body that treat back pain. You can treat hip pain via the shoulder. You can treat shoulder pain via points by the knee. You can relieve stress via points on the feet.

You can relieve anxiety by using points on the wrist. This is what you learn in acupuncture school. In addition, there are other systems of acupuncture such as the Tung system, which can be used instead of, or in addition to TCM medicine, which is Traditional Chinese Medicine.

There are no limits to how Chinese medicine can heal you. Acupuncture is only a part of Chinese medicine. Chinese herbs are easily half of Chinese medicine.

In Chinese hospitals, they use acupuncture and herbs to treat diseases. From what I have heard, they will treat patients with acupuncture twice a day, and give them prescribed herbal formulas twice a day also. Chinese medicine is a complete form of medicine.

Before the common usage of Western medicine in China, people went to the hospital and got acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

Trigger points are also used in acupuncture. They are called Ashi points. That means you treat where the area is sore.

Chinese Medicine Treats the Emotions

In addition to all types of pain, Chinese medicine treats emotional issues also. Each emotion is associated with an organ. For example, the liver is associated with stress. When you are under stress, it affects your liver. This can affect your entire body, your energy levels, and your sleep. This is easy to treat with Chinese medicine.

Acupuncture can be used to balance the emotions and treat anxiety, depression, stress, fatigue, and digestive issues. You name it, there is usually a solution. It is a safe, and effective solution.

The best thing to treat emotional issues such as stress is Chinese herbal medicine. You can get a formula prescribed that suits your issues, and take it a few times a day for a week, and see the difference.

Insomnia Relief

There is an epidemic of insomnia. The stress of the modern world, our usage of electronic devices, and simply driving in Dallas traffic is enough to mess you up. It makes you anxious. This affects your heart energy in Chinese medicine. There are herbal formulas that calm your anxiety, and treat your insomnia at the same time.

There are herbal formulas that help most people get to sleep, and sleep deeper than they have in a long time. Simply take your herbal formula two hours before bed, so it has time to start working. There are different formulas to choose from, so your exact symptoms are addressed.

Stroke Recovery

If you or someone you know has had a stroke. You need to tell him/her that it is not too late. It is never too late. Acupuncture works faster if you get treated right after your stroke.

I treated my mom the day after her stroke, in the hospital, and after the second treatment she was able to lift her affected arm again. I also treated her feet and legs so she could walk again quickly. I treated my dad a week after his stroke. I tell this story in my stroke book. Recover from a Stroke.

After helping both my parents recover from their strokes, with amazing results, I decided I needed to write a book about how acupuncture, and acupressure can help stroke patients recover faster.

I spent several years researching this book, to learn all I could about what happens to people when they have a stroke, and the side effects people can suffer with for years.

My parents did not suffer from some of the common side effects of a stroke, because they got care quickly, which restored circulation. This prevented spasticity and other problems from occurring. It also meant their muscles did not become weak after not being used.

I can help you recover faster, and help you to help yourself. I wrote an article about this, which can be found here: Stroke Recovery with Acupuncture. (Opens in a new page on your browser).

Menopause and Female Hormone Balance

Chinese medicine is the best solution for hormone issues. It is all you need. It can balance your hormones your entire life.

Younger women can use Chinese herbs to be more fertile, and regulate hormones to relieve PMS. But Western medicine will never be as good as Chinese medicine to treat menopause. I have struggled with this myself, so I can tell you exactly what you need to do to feel better fast.

Menopause and peri menopause cause so many symptoms. In Chinese medicine, a decline in Kidney energy as we age causes these symptoms. There are herbal formulas to treat all these issues, including hot flashes, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, hair loss, and dryness.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is usually one of the things that recovers the fastest with acupuncture. It is because it is a pretty small area, so fewer muscles are affected.

Sometimes there are other issues, which cause frozen shoulder. There might be tight areas on the arm muscles that need to be addressed, but for most people, it is pretty simple.

Knee Pain

Even if there is damage to the joint, which most people have, acupuncture can be very effective to relieve knee pain. Don’t think that your joint is damaged, and you need surgery. Try acupuncture a few times and see if it helps. You have nothing to lose.

Acupuncture can restore circulation in the knee, so it can heal itself.
