Neuropathy, or nerve pain, can be an absolute disaster if not treated. Neuropathy can be caused by diabetes, where high sugar levels damage the blood vessels and nerves, or many other things.
Acupuncture treats neuropathy by restoring blood flow. In neuropathy, the circulation is damaged, and oxygen cannot reach the tissues. The tissue can turn purple, and over time can actually die.
According to the American Diabetes Association:
Approximately 130,000 to 160,000 people suffer from diabetes-related limb amputations each year in the United States.
These people lose toes, feet, legs, and other body parts because circulation is not good, and the tissue is being damaged.
Proportion: Roughly 80% of all non-traumatic lower limb amputations in the U.S. are caused by diabetes complications.
Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and other techniques can restore healthy blood flow. I once had a patient who had purple feet and lower legs. Walking caused a lot of pain. He only needed a few acupuncture treatments to improve blood flow to his feet and relieve his pain. Everyone is different, and it might take longer for you to recover.
Acupuncture stimulates circulation from the toes all the way up the leg. Neuropathy from any cause can usually be helped with acupuncture.
Please do not allow your loved one to lose a foot or leg. I can help you with acupuncture, and acupressure tips to maintain circulation. In my opinion, if neuropathy patients would get acupuncture, they would not lose limbs. Don’t put it off.
Restoring Circulation is key. I will help you, and I will help you to help yourself.
I can also help you with non-healing wounds. The wounds do not heal, because they do not have blood flow. I do a special treatment where I surround the wound with needles, which pulls healthy blood into the area.
Many years ago my dad was visiting from out of town, and showed me his non-healing wound on his leg. He had surgery there a year prior, and the wound had not closed. That is a huge risk for infection. That is why some people lose limbs, because open wounds can easily be infected. So I surrounded the wound with tiny needles, a couple of times, and the wound closed up and scabbed over.

There are many points on the feet and legs that I use to help restore healthy circulation. The acupuncture “wakes up” the nerves again, to help restore healthy blood flow.
