Chinese medicine has solutions for these problems. The treatments include acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Your acupuncture treats you, and every time you take Chinese herbs, you treat yourself. That helps you recover much faster. You don’t have to take herbs, but they are amazing.
Chinese medicine diagnosis is completely different from Western medicine diagnosis. I like to know what your medical doctor said, but it often does not matter. You will get a Chinese medicine diagnosis, which is why Chinese medicine can be so effective. We treat the person, not the symptom.
Your Treatment
Your consultation will last for 10-15 minutes on your first visit. I will look at your tongue. That is for tongue diagnosis. This is used for internal medicine diagnosis. It is only one piece of the puzzle. I also take your pulse.
You will lie down, I insert the needles, and you “cook” for about 30 minutes. In most cases, you will be done within an hour.
I don’t like paper gowns. I use sheets on a massage table, and sometimes have a piece of flexible disposable sheet covering it. You can either bring shorts, or I will give you a sheet or cover to stay warm.
For a back treatment you can leave your clothes on, and they can be adjusted to give me access to your lower back, or wherever it hurts.
If we are treating stress, fatigue, hormone issues, knee pain, foot neuropathy, or anything on the front, you will need to pull your pants to a little above your knees. There is a point there, called Stomach 36, which is used to treat fatigue, and about 1,000 other things. It is best if we can treat that. You choose if you want a front treatment, or back treatment. I can also treat back pain by using other points on your body, such as your hands and legs. We can discuss this.
What to Expect
When treating pain, I expect most people to feel an improvement after the first treatment. I expect an even better improvement after the second treatment. Many people take 4-6 treatments to resolve their main complaint. I treat as many things as I can at the same time. Chinese medicine is holistic. It treats the whole person, not just symptoms.
For pain, you will feel better, or even possible pain free, for a few days. The pain will come back a little. That is usually the muscles in the area adjusting to being relaxed. Your body also only notices pain in the WORST AREA. When that is relieved, other areas might start telling you there is a problem there.
All areas of pain need to be addressed. All tight muscles need to be relaxed, circulation needs to be restored.
When the pain stops coming back, you no longer need treatment for that problem.
